Photovoltaics
The generated electricity can be used on site, stored in accumulators or fed into power grids. To be fed into the grid, the direct current generated must first be converted into an alternating current by means of an inverter. Line commutated inverters automatically adjust to the grid's exact voltage and other values.
Occasionally the energy supply of photovoltaics is realised by "Island-Systems". To continuously allocate the energy, it has to be stored.
Grid supply
Photovoltaics are being installed, the generated energy (electricity) will be fed into the public power supply system and the operator of the installation respectively receives a payment from the energy supplier. (GESA)
Off-grid power supply
A connection to the power network doesn't exist.
Photovoltaics will be installed to supply the house / plot with electricity. To continuously allocate the energy, it has to be stored. (Batteries).
